About

I’ve always found myself totally excited when I prepare a simple, organic, tasty wholesome vegetarian meal for the ones I love and that remains as one of the the most satisfying tasks of my daily life! We simply enjoy the laughter with our family and friends at the dining table on a cold winter night just as much as a dinner right in our backyard, on a warm summer day.

Now, “I have no special talents. I am passionately curious”, like Einstein said. In our kitchen, we try cooking south indian, north indian, chinese, thai, italian, mexican and anything else that excites us as long as it is vegetarian. Over the years of cooking various types of food, now we are not afraid to use capellini instead of noodles, lasagna sheets in place of “adai” in payasam, modify the a cabbage subzi made for rotis to a ‘patty’ for a veg burger or use the left over rotis and rice to make a yummy wholesome mexican burrito!

But this blog is not just about me or my cooking. In fact, it is more about Manoj, my husband, a very passionate, self-taught photographer (www.handfulofpictures.com) who loves … loves … food:)  He had been dreaming about having our own food blog for quite a few years and here we are… with our baby steps… through his pictures… finally!

It is equally about our kids, Maanas & Navya who are so passionate about growing vegetables in our small backyard every summer. Year after year they have grown carrots, beans, corn, tomatoes, okra, eggplant, bell pepper, cucumber, zucchini, watermelons and all sorts of herbs and proudly shared them with their little friends. Now they want to lay their hands on cooking with the very same vegetables they grow. They also want to learn to bake all by themselves. So we let the kids decide what entry goes in to the blog; they either make it themselves or we make it together. Simple joys of life… true inspiration to us!

"Handful Of Recipes" is our journey together…
